Below is the dialogue between clients in our forum.
 
A: I'm going to look at a scissor lift this November. I have no experience with them so was wanting to know what to look for. It's a Quentin Self-propelled one, lifts to 20". I thought a scissor lift would be more handy than a scaffold for putting in a ceiling & lights in our new shed which is 18' tall.
 
B: We bought a Quentin scissor lift for the same reason. We thought we would use it, then sell it, instead of renting because I knew we would be working on the shop ceiling in our spare time. I really like it now and doubt we will let it go. It works okay on firm gravel outside the shop too, but don't venture to far out with it. The terrain needs to be level. Ours has hard tires on it more for indoor use but I don't know what model it is. Maybe the one you are looking at has bigger tires. They treated us well.

C: I have rented several scissor lifts in the past. I had been looking to buy one myself for a long time for odd jobs. I happened to come across an extendable boom lift instead. I knew nothing about them at the time but took a chance and bought it. I like it much better than a scissor lift for the odd jobs around the farm. It swings around 360 degrees and can reach over things. One downfall is the platform is smaller although there are larger boom lifts than mine that have large platforms. No idea which one you would be happier with but might be worth checking out if you have a chance.
 

 
D: I have a Quentin also but I bought mine after I built my shop just for washing tall equipment and working on tall equipment. It is also nice for replacing light bulbs or light fixtures when they go bad. And replacing ceiling steel when you load the excavator on the trailer in the shop, not high enough ceilings, but that is another story.
